An interactive planet exhibit for the National Space Centre

My group chose the National Space Centre in Leicester as our site and spent a day there running AEIOU research before settling on a persona: Diego, a 10-year-old on a school trip, easily bored in queues and often left without enough context to understand what he's looking at.

We prototyped and scored ten concepts against criteria like educational value and CAD feasibility, then took tutor feedback on our two strongest directions — one where visitors build a custom planet through physical dials and levers, another where weighted, textured planets are placed on a pedestal to trigger information on screen. The final concept merges both: visitors place a planet to see it join a live digital solar system display, combining tactile interaction with the reveal of "your" creation in space.

Working as a group meant reconciling six different sets of research and sketches into one brief — the persona board became our shared reference point whenever the team needed to settle a disagreement about what to build next.
